Cocomi

Cocomi (born Kokomi Kimura on May 1, 2001) is a Japanese classical flutist, fashion model, and voice actress. Born into a prominent entertainment family in Tokyo, Japan, she has established a multi-faceted career that balances classical music performances, high-profile modeling campaigns, and international brand ambassadorships.

Early Life and Musical Education

Growing up in Tokyo as the eldest daughter of actor Takuya Kimura and singer Shizuka Kudo, Cocomi was exposed to the performing arts from an early age. She began learning the violin at three years old before discovering a passion for the flute at eleven. She attended international schools, including the Aoba-Japan International School and The British School in Tokyo, becoming fluent in Japanese, English, and French. Cocomi pursued formal classical training at Toho Girls' Senior High School's music department and later continued her studies at Toho Gakuen School of Music, training under master flutists such as Hiroaki Kanda of the NHK Symphony Orchestra and participating in masterclasses with renowned musicians Emmanuel Pahud and Vladimir Ashkenazy.

Modeling and Fashion Career

Cocomi made her official modeling debut in March 2020, gracing the cover of Vogue Japan's May 2020 issue. Around the same time, she was named a beauty and fashion ambassador for the luxury French fashion house Dior in Japan. Since her debut, she has appeared in leading editorial spreads, brand promotional campaigns, and prominent fashion events across Asia. Her elegant presentation and artistic background have allowed her to bridge classical music aesthetics with contemporary high-fashion endorsement work.

Music Releases and Voice Acting

In April 2022, Cocomi released her debut classical album, de l'amour, under Universal Music Japan. The project featured collaborations with acclaimed international artists, including violinist David Garrett, cellist Haruma Sato, and guitarist Milos. She has since expanded her discography with subsequent releases such as Neos and Bouquet de Cinéma, performing classical recitals and concert showcases. Beyond music and fashion, she ventured into voice acting in 2021, voicing the character Kikuko in the anime feature film Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko, and has continued taking select voice roles.
