Natasha Henstridge

Natasha Tonya Henstridge is a Canadian actress who achieved widespread recognition following her feature film debut in the 1995 science-fiction horror production Species. Her portrayal of an alien-human hybrid led to appearances in subsequent installments of the franchise, as well as prominent roles across a variety of feature films and television productions, including Maximum Risk, The Whole Nine Yards, Ghosts of Mars, and Diggstown. Over the course of her career, she has earned critical recognition for her work on television, including a Gemini Award.

Born on August 15, 1974, in Springdale, Newfoundland and Labrador, Henstridge was raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta. She is the daughter of Helen, a homemaker, and Brian Henstridge, a construction manager and business owner, and grew up alongside a younger brother named Shane. At age fourteen, she entered the modeling industry after finishing as first runner-up in a contest hosted by the Casablanca Modeling Agency. The following year, she moved to Paris to model, securing her first magazine cover on the French edition of Cosmopolitan at fifteen and appearing in commercial campaigns for brands such as Olay, Old Spice, and Lady Stetson. She gained early acting experience locally, playing Foxy Fox in a theater production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Henstridge launched her screen career portraying Sil in the 1995 box-office success Species, winning an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss. Following this breakthrough, she starred in the 1996 action features Adrenalin: Fear the Rush and Maximum Risk. She returned as Eve in the 1998 sequel Species II and later made a brief appearance in Species III in 2004. Her film resume expanded with roles in comedies such as The Whole Nine Yards and its sequel The Whole Ten Yards, alongside independent films like Bela Donna and Dog Park. She also played Lieutenant Melanie Ballard in John Carpenter's 2001 film Ghosts of Mars and served as a festival judge at the Noor Iranian Film Festival in 2007.

On television, Henstridge appeared in project titles such as Caracara and The Outer Limits, hosted TLC's Mostly True Stories: Urban Legends Revealed, and voiced a character on South Park. She held main and recurring roles in several series, including the action show She Spies, the ABC drama Commander in Chief, and the comedy-drama Eli Stone. Her performance in the Canadian miniseries Would Be Kings earned her the Gemini Award for Best Actress. She later appeared on CSI: Miami, starred in the drama series The Secret Circle, and held a main role in the legal series Diggstown from 2019 to 2022.

In addition to broadcast work, Henstridge appeared in the video game expansion Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath and independent films like Anytown and Should've Been Romeo. In her personal life, she was married to actor Damian Chapa from 1995 to 1996, later had two sons during a relationship with actor Liam Waite, and was married to singer Darius Campbell before their divorce was finalized in 2018. She has publicly discussed her past experiences with extreme dieting and joined several actresses in 2017 to speak out against sexual misconduct by industry figures Brett Ratner and Harvey Weinstein.
