Dichen Lachman

Dichen Lachman is a Nepali-born Australian actress and model. Born on 22 February 1982, she has earned recognition across a broad range of television and film projects. She is best known for her television portrayals of Katya Kinski on the long-running soap opera Neighbours, Sierra in the science fiction series Dollhouse, and Ms. Casey on the thriller series Severance.

Lachman spent her early childhood in Kathmandu, Nepal, born to a Tibetan mother and an Australian father. In the early 1990s, her family relocated to Adelaide, Australia. Her schooling took place at West Lakes Primary School, Gilles Street Primary School, Norwood Morialta High School, St Mary's College, and Annesley College. She subsequently pursued higher education at the University of Adelaide.

Her career began with a commercial for Wanadoo filmed in Australia and broadcast in the United Kingdom. In 2005, she auditioned for Neighbours; although she initially tried out for another character, producers developed the part of Katya Kinski specifically for her. She made early film appearances in Aquamarine, Bled, and Aztec Rex. In 2007, she moved to Los Angeles to advance her acting career, leading to her casting as Sierra in Joss Whedon's drama series Dollhouse in 2008.

Over the following years, Lachman expanded her presence on television with guest roles in shows such as NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, and Torchwood: Miracle Day. She secured regular and recurring television roles, including parts on Being Human, Last Resort, and Husbands. She went on to portray Anya on The 100, Jiaying on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Jesse on The Last Ship, Reileen Kawahara on Altered Carbon, and Frankie on Animal Kingdom.

In addition to her performance roles, Lachman worked behind the camera as a producer alongside Anton King for the independent film Lust for Love, which was successfully funded through a Kickstarter campaign. Her cinematic work includes featured roles in Too Late, Bad Therapy, and the blockbuster film Jurassic World Dominion as Soyona Santos, a role she later reprised for the animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.

Lachman's portrayal of wellness counselor Ms. Casey on Severance gained critical acclaim, earning her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Streaming Series, Drama at the 2nd Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards. Her subsequent projects include appearances in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Joe Baby, Unholy Night, and casting as Impa in the live-action movie adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. In her personal life, Lachman married actor Maximilian Osinski in January 2015, and she gave birth to their daughter in May 2015.
