Jesse McCartney

Jesse McCartney is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He first rose to prominence in the late 1990s playing Adam Chandler Jr. on the daytime drama All My Children. He gained further musical recognition as a member of the boy band Dream Street before launching a successful solo career. Beyond music, McCartney has appeared in numerous television series and provided voice work for major animated films and video game franchises.

Born on April 9, 1987, in Ardsley, Westchester, New York, McCartney began performing in local community theater at age seven, making his debut in Oliver! and later touring nationally in The King and I. In 1998, he performed with the children's musical group Sugar Beats. In 1999, he joined the pop boy band Dream Street, which earned a gold record with their debut album before disbanding in 2002.

McCartney launched his solo music career with an EP in 2003, followed by his debut full-length album, Beautiful Soul, in 2004. The platinum-certified album reached number 15 on the Billboard 200, led by its top-20 title track. He followed this with his 2006 album Right Where You Want Me. His third album, Departure (2008), featured his highest-charting single, "Leavin'", which reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. During this period, McCartney also co-wrote the global hit song "Bleeding Love", recorded by Leona Lewis.

He continued releasing music independently and through record labels over the following decades. His studio albums include In Technicolor (2014) and New Stage (2021). McCartney has also released several EPs, including All's Well in 2024 and Weightless in 2025. In addition to his own headlining tours, he has toured alongside artists such as the Backstreet Boys and the Jonas Brothers.

In addition to his music career, McCartney established himself as an actor. His early work on All My Children earned him two Young Artist Awards and two Daytime Emmy Award nominations. He later starred as Bradin Westerly in the series Summerland, played a recurring role in Greek, and appeared in feature films such as the drama Keith and the horror film Chernobyl Diaries.

As a voice actor, McCartney voiced Theodore in the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks film series, JoJo McDodd in Horton Hears a Who!, and Terence in the Tinker Bell franchise. He also voiced Robin and Nightwing in the animated series Young Justice, as well as the characters Roxas and Ventus throughout the Kingdom Hearts video game series. In 2020, he finished as the runner-up on the third season of The Masked Singer.
