Cole Sprouse

Cole Mitchell Sprouse is an American actor and photographer who gained international fame as a child star alongside his twin brother, Dylan Sprouse. Born in Italy to American parents, he became one of television's most recognizable young actors through his co-starring role as Cody Martin in the hit Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and its spin-off The Suite Life on Deck. As an adult, Sprouse transitioned to mature roles, earning widespread acclaim for portraying Jughead Jones in the teen drama series Riverdale.

Early Life and Child Acting

Sprouse was born on August 4, 1992, in Arezzo, Italy, where his parents were teaching English, before the family relocated to Long Beach, California. He began his acting career at eight months old, frequently sharing roles with his twin brother Dylan due to California child labor laws. The brothers made their feature film debut in the 1999 comedy Big Daddy alongside Adam Sandler and shared the role of Patrick Kelly in the sitcom Grace Under Fire. Sprouse later secured his first major solo role as Ben Geller, the son of Ross Geller, on the hit NBC sitcom Friends. From 2005 to 2011, the Sprouse brothers reached peak teenage popularity starring in Disney Channel's The Suite Life franchise, establishing themselves among the most prominent teen stars of their era.

Higher Education and Acting Return

Following the conclusion of his Disney Channel career, Sprouse stepped away from full-time acting to pursue higher education at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. He graduated in 2015 with a degree in Geographical Information Systems and Archaeology, participating in several archaeological excavations across Europe and Asia. In 2016, Sprouse returned to television when he was cast as Jughead Jones in The CW's mystery drama Riverdale, a dark reimagining of the Archie Comics universe. His performance garnered multiple Teen Choice Awards during the show's seven-season run. He expanded his film work with lead roles in romantic dramas such as Five Feet Apart (2019), Moonshot (2022), and the dark comedy Lisa Frankenstein (2024).

In addition to acting, Sprouse is an accomplished commercial and fashion photographer. His professional photography portfolio includes editorial shoots for major fashion publications such as Teen Vogue, L'Uomo Vogue, and The Wall Street Journal.
