Macaulay Culkin

Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin (born Macaulay Carson Culkin; August 26, 1980) is an American actor and musician. Recognized as one of the most successful child actors of the 1990s, he achieved international fame for his portrayal of Kevin McCallister in the Christmas comedy film Home Alone (1990) and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992). Over the course of his career, he has received honors including a Golden Globe Award nomination, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023, and a second-place ranking on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Kid-Stars in 2005.

Born in the Manhattan borough of New York City to former stage actor Christopher "Kit" Culkin and Patricia Brentrup, Culkin was raised Catholic alongside six siblings in a small Manhattan apartment. He attended St. Joseph's School of Yorkville and the Professional Children's School. Culkin began performing at the age of four in stage productions such as Bach Babies. During his youth, he experienced a strained and abusive relationship with his father, eventually taking court action in his teens to remove his parents from managing his trust fund following their separation.

Culkin made his screen debut in the late 1980s, appearing in the television series The Equalizer and feature films including Rocket Gibraltar (1988), See You in the Morning (1989), and Uncle Buck (1989). His breakthrough in Home Alone led to a series of high-profile roles, including the animated series Wish Kid, hosting Saturday Night Live, appearing in Michael Jackson's "Black or White" music video, and starring in films such as My Girl (1991), The Good Son (1993), Getting Even with Dad (1994), The Pagemaster (1994), and Richie Rich (1994). Following Richie Rich, he stepped away from acting at age 14 to attend a private high school in Manhattan.

Culkin returned to acting in 2000 with a lead role in the West End play Madame Melville. He subsequently transitioned into adult acting roles, appearing on the sitcom Will & Grace and starring in films such as Party Monster (2003), Saved! (2004), and Sex and Breakfast (2007). In addition to providing voice work for Robot Chicken, he published an experimental novel titled Junior in 2006 and held a supporting role in the television series Kings.

During the 2010s, Culkin expanded into music and media production. From 2013 to 2016, he served as the lead vocalist for the comedy rock band the Pizza Underground. In 2018, he launched Bunny Ears, a satirical pop culture website and podcast, and reprised his Home Alone character for a commercial campaign. His film work during this decade included Adam Green's experimental project The Wrong Ferarri (2011) and Seth Green's comedy film Changeland (2019).

Culkin experienced a television resurgence in the 2020s, earning critical acclaim for his role in the tenth season of American Horror Story (2021). His subsequent credits include guest appearances in The Righteous Gemstones, voice roles in Entergalactic (2022) and Zootopia 2 (2025), and a recurring role in the series Fallout starting in 2025. In his personal life, Culkin was married to Rachel Miner from 1998 to 2002 and dated Mila Kunis from 2002 to 2010. He began a relationship with Brenda Song in 2017, with whom he has a son, and officially completed a legal name change to Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin in 2019.
