Xu Minghao

Xu Minghao, known professionally by the stage name The8, is a Chinese singer, dancer, and songwriter based in South Korea. Born on November 7, 1997, in Anshan, Liaoning Province, China, he is best known as a member of the South Korean boy band SEVENTEEN, managed by Pledis Entertainment. Within the group, he serves as a lead dancer and vocalist as part of its dedicated Performance Team.

During his youth in China, Xu studied martial arts, specifically wushu, and developed a strong background in breakdancing and contemporary dance performance. After competing in national b-boy tournaments, he was scouted by Pledis Entertainment and moved to South Korea for training. He officially debuted with SEVENTEEN in May 2015 with the release of the group's debut extended play, 17 Carat.

Beyond his group responsibilities, Xu has established a versatile solo career across music and television. He released his solo debut track, "Night and Rain," in 2018, followed by several digital singles in both Mandarin and Korean. In 2019, he served as a dance mentor on the Chinese survival program Youth With You. He expanded his discography with additional solo releases, including his 2024 extended play titled Stardust.

Xu continues to perform and record actively with SEVENTEEN, contributing to global concert tours, album releases, and group sub-unit projects. In addition to music, he is widely recognized for his engagement in contemporary art, photography, and fashion, having collaborated with international fashion houses and consumer brands as an ambassador.
