Vernon Chwe

Hansol Vernon Chwe, known mononymously as Vernon, is an American-born South Korean rapper, singer, and songwriter. He gained international prominence as a member of the South Korean boy group Seventeen, managed by Pledis Entertainment. Within the group, he serves as a main rapper and is part of its hip-hop sub-unit. Beyond group releases, he has contributed extensively as a songwriter and composer to the group's discography.

Born in New York City, Vernon moved to South Korea at a young age. He was scouted by Pledis Entertainment during his youth and underwent several years of musical training before officially debuting with Seventeen in May 2015. Over the course of his career with Seventeen, the group achieved widespread commercial success globally, releasing numerous chart-topping albums and performing major international concert tours.

In addition to his work with Seventeen, Vernon has pursued solo musical endeavors and collaborations with various international artists. He officially released his solo mixtape, Black Eye, in December 2022. Alongside his musical output, he has engaged in high-profile commercial endorsements, including serving as a global brand ambassador for fashion and lifestyle brands. He also participated in South Korean military service as part of his mandatory duties.
