Woozi

Woozi, born Lee Ji-hoon on November 22, 1996, in Busan, South Korea, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as a key member of the South Korean boy band Seventeen, managed by Pledis Entertainment. Within the group, Woozi serves as a lead vocalist, the leader of the vocal team, and the principal producer responsible for shaping the group's signature musical identity.

Woozi developed a strong interest in music during his childhood, learning classical instruments including the clarinet before auditioning for Pledis Entertainment. Following several years of intensive training, he officially debuted with Seventeen in May 2015 with their initial extended play, 17 Carat. From their debut single Adore U onward, Woozi played a central role in songwriting and audio production for the group alongside frequent collaborator Bumzu, helping establish Seventeen's reputation as a self-producing idol group.

Throughout his career, Woozi has composed and produced the vast majority of Seventeen's discography, contributing to numerous hit singles and chart-topping albums. Beyond his creative output for Seventeen, he has written and produced songs for various other Korean musical acts, including Ailee, I.O.I, and NU'EST W. His contributions to song production were formally recognized when he won the Best Producer Award at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards.

Woozi initiated his solo recording career in January 2022 with the release of his debut mixtape, Ruby, which featured an English-language lead single. In addition to his solo endeavors and soundtrack contributions for television, he continues to serve as a primary songwriter, producer, and performer for Seventeen's global album releases, sub-unit projects, and live concert tours.
