Joshua Hong

Joshua Hong, known mononymously as Joshua, is an American singer based in South Korea. Managed by Pledis Entertainment, he is a member of the South Korean boy band Seventeen and its vocal team.

Hong was born in Los Angeles on December 30, 1995. Growing up, he attended church in Los Angeles' Koreatown. He attended Downtown Magnets High School, graduating in 2013.

In 2012, at the age of 16, Hong was approached by a K-pop scout while attending the Los Angeles Korean Festival. The scout arranged an audition video for Pledis Entertainment, leading to an invitation to South Korea. He received a plane ticket and moved from Los Angeles to Seoul in 2013, training for about a month before being accepted as a trainee. Although he had learned some Korean through church, he initially struggled with the language, improving through singing practice, studying lyrics, and conversing with other group members. As a trainee, he appeared from the second season onward in the online reality show Seventeen TV and participated in the Like Seventeen concerts.

Hong officially debuted as a member of Seventeen on May 29, 2015, with the extended play 17 Carat. In 2020, he collaborated with bandmate DK and American musician Pink Sweats on a remix of "17". In June 2022, he released a cover of Dhruv's "Double Take" for Seventeen's #17Studio series. In 2023, Hong and bandmate Hoshi appeared in the TVING reality show Bro and Marble in Dubai, where their performances were well received. That March, Hong became the first K-pop artist featured in Apple Music's Home Session series. He co-hosted the Apple Music 1 radio show Summer Vacation With Joshua and Vernon of Seventeen in July 2023, and featured on New Kids On The Block's remix of "Dirty Dancing" alongside bandmates DK and Dino in August.

Hong released his official studio solo track, "Fortunate Change," in May 2025 on Seventeen's 10th-anniversary album HAPPY BURSTDAY. In early 2025, he featured on SLANDER's vocal remix of "Love Is Gone" and collaborated with Lola James Harper on "So Many Roads." In May 2026, he made his feature film soundtrack debut with "One More Dance," a duet with Corbyn Besson for the Netflix film K-Pops!, directed by Anderson .Paak. On July 6, 2026, Pledis Entertainment announced a sub-unit album with fellow vocalist Jeonghan slated for October 2026.

Hong has worked extensively in commercial endorsements. In May 2022, he and bandmate Seungkwan modeled for Laneige's "Neo Cushion" line. He became an ambassador for Givenchy Beauty in December 2023. In March 2026, he was named brand ambassador for Real Barrier across South Korea and Japan, and was appointed regional brand ambassador for Make Up For Ever.

Hong has also developed a portfolio in luxury fashion. He attended Marni shows in Tokyo and Paris in 2023 and became brand ambassador for Barrie in March 2024. In 2025, he attended Milan Fashion Week for Onitsuka Tiger and Paris Fashion Week for Givenchy. In 2026, he attended the GQ Bowl x Thom Browne event in San Francisco, the Vogue China Vacation event in Jiuzhaigou, and Amiri's show at Paris Men's Fashion Week. In June 2026, he became a "Friend of the House" for watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre.
