Deng Lun

Deng Lun, also known as Allen Deng, is a Chinese actor, singer, and businessman born on October 21, 1992. He is best known for his roles in Chinese television series such as Because of Meeting You and Ashes of Love. Among Chinese actors of the Post-90s Generation, he achieved notable recognition, holding viewership records for having multiple dramas achieve ratings over one percent.

Deng Lun was born in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. His parents were reportedly in the military, and he grew up with his grandparents. In 2011, he graduated from the Performance Department of the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

Deng Lun made his acting debut in the romance drama Flowers in Fog, filmed in 2012 and released in 2013. Over the following years, he appeared in series such as Moment in Peking, Dad to be Married, Love Upper Lot, and Promise of Migratory Birds. His work in Promise of Migratory Birds earned him the Trending Young Actor of the Year award at the 10th Tencent Video Star Awards in 2016. He also took on roles in period and historical projects, including White Deer Plain and Investiture of the Gods.

Deng Lun gained widespread popularity in 2017 after starring in the successful family drama Because of Meeting You. He also won the Breakthrough Actor award at the Weibo TV Drama Awards for White Deer Plain and appeared in Ode to Joy 2 and Princess Agents. In 2018, his career peaked with starring roles in Sweet Dreams and Ashes of Love. Ashes of Love became a major commercial success, garnering high ratings and widespread acclaim both in China and internationally.

Between 2018 and 2021, Deng Lun diversified into variety shows and film. He participated in Who's the Keyman, Great Escape, and served as host for Treasure in the Forbidden City. He starred in the series My True Friend, earning a Best Actor nomination at the Asian Television Awards, as well as Mr. Fighting and Blossom in Heart. In 2020, he made his feature film debut in The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity, which achieved domestic box office success and global distribution on Netflix. He also performed several chart-topping singles for his projects' soundtracks.

Throughout his career, Deng Lun represented brands including Bvlgari, L'Oreal, Ralph Lauren, Roger Vivier, and Bally, and featured in a global Gucci campaign. He was the first Post-90s artist to complete the grand slam of China's Big 5 men's magazines. In March 2022, Deng Lun was fined for tax evasion and issued a public apology, after which his social media accounts were closed. He subsequently shifted his focus to the hotpot business Fireroom, which he co-founded in 2020, and modeled for Art PDF magazine in January 2025.
