Margot Elise Robbie is an Australian actress and producer born on July 2, 1990. Recognized for her performances in both blockbuster and independent films, she was named the world's highest-paid actress in 2023. Her industry honors include seven AACTA Awards, three Critics' Choice Awards, and nominations for three Academy Awards, six British Academy Film Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards.

Robbie was born on the Gold Coast, Queensland, to Doug Robbie, a former farm owner and sugarcane tycoon, and Sarie Kessler, a physiotherapist. The third of four children, she spent part of her childhood in the rural town of Dalby before returning to the Gold Coast after her parents separated. Much of her youth was spent on her grandparents' farm in the Currumbin Valley. While attending Somerset College to study drama, she worked three jobs, including tending bar, cleaning houses, and working at Subway. After graduating, she moved to Melbourne to pursue acting professionally.

Robbie made her early television appearances in guest roles on City Homicide and The Elephant Princess. In 2008, she was cast as Donna Freedman on the Australian soap opera Neighbours, transitioning from a guest role to a regular cast member through 2011 and earning two Logie Award nominations. She then moved to the United States, landing a starring role as a flight attendant in the period drama series Pan Am.

Her feature film breakthrough arrived in 2013 with Martin Scorsese's biographical comedy-drama The Wolf of Wall Street. Her portrayal of Naomi Lapaglia brought critical praise and won her the Empire Award for Best Newcomer. In 2014, Robbie co-founded the production company LuckyChap Entertainment with filmmaker Tom Ackerley, whom she later married and with whom she has a child. Under LuckyChap, she has produced films such as I, Tonya, Promising Young Woman, Barbie, and Saltburn, alongside the series Dollface and Maid. Robbie is also an advocate for human rights, women's rights, gender equality, and LGBTQ rights.
