Camilla Belle

Camilla Belle Routh is an American actress who began her career as a child performer. Born in Los Angeles, California, she gained early recognition through appearances in television commercials and various film and television projects. Over her career, she has established a presence in major feature films, independent productions, television series, and commercial advertising campaigns.

Belle was born to a Brazilian mother, Deborah Cristina Gould, and an American father, Jack Wesley Routh, who worked as a country music performer and composer. She was raised in her mother's devout Roman Catholic faith and grew up speaking both English and Portuguese, frequently visiting her mother's family in Brazil during her childhood. She attended the Marlborough School, an all-girl high school located in Los Angeles.

Her career started with television commercials for brands such as Cabbage Patch Kids, Campbell's Soup, Public Broadcasting System, and Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical. At age five, she landed her first lead acting role in the NBC thriller film Trouble Shooter: Trapped Beneath the Earth. During the 1990s, she appeared in notable feature films including A Little Princess, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, The Patriot, and Practical Magic, the latter earning her a Young Artist Award nomination. She also voiced Aubrey Shepard on the radio drama Adventures in Odyssey and made a guest appearance on Walker: Texas Ranger.

After starring in television movies such as Replacing Dad, the Disney Channel film Rip Girls, and Back to the Secret Garden, Belle took a brief break from acting. She returned to the screen in the 2005 independent film The Quiet. The following year, she starred as Jill Johnson in the horror remake When a Stranger Calls, which grossed $67.1 million worldwide. She later played the female lead in Roland Emmerich's action-adventure film 10,000 BC, which earned $269 million at the global box office.

Belle's subsequent acting credits include the student-produced drama-thriller The Mad Whale, the Netflix original action film Carter, and the romantic comedy 10 Truths About Love, which was later released on the Great American Family channel as Love Can Surprise You. On television, she guest-judged an episode of Project Runway and held a recurring role as Pearl Serrano in the third season of Law & Order: Organized Crime. In 2024, she featured as the female lead in Ben Barnes' music video for the song Beloved.

Beyond acting, Belle has been featured in major promotional campaigns and fashion media. She signed a multi-year contract as the face of Vera Wang's Princess fragrance from 2006 to 2009, appeared in a Nespresso advertisement alongside George Clooney, and participated in Cotton Incorporated's The Fabric of My Life campaign. She has appeared on covers for magazines such as Teen Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar, worked as a runway model, and received the Young Hollywood Style Icon award at the 2011 Young Hollywood Awards.
