Son Chaeyoung

Son Chae-young, known mononymously as Chaeyoung, is a South Korean singer, rapper, and songwriter. She is best known as the main rapper and a member of the South Korean girl group TWICE, which was formed by JYP Entertainment. In addition to her musical performances, she has gained recognition within the group for her involvement in songwriting and artistic design work.

Chaeyoung was born on April 23, 1999, in Seoul, South Korea. She developed an interest in the performing arts early in life and took dance lessons before passing an audition for JYP Entertainment in 2012. As a trainee, she appeared in music videos for agency labelmates. In 2015, she competed on the television reality competition show Sixteen, where she was selected as one of the final members to form TWICE.

TWICE officially debuted in October 2015 with the extended play The Story Begins. Since then, Chaeyoung has contributed to the group's extensive discography, contributing rap verses and lyrics for multiple tracks. The group went on to achieve major commercial success globally, releasing numerous hit albums and completing several world tours. Beyond her work with TWICE, Chaeyoung debuted as a solo artist in September 2025 with her studio album Lil Fantasy Vol. 1.
