Im Nayeon

Im Na-yeon, known mononymously as Nayeon, is a South Korean singer born on September 22, 1995, in Gangdong District, Seoul, South Korea. She is best known as a member of the South Korean girl group Twice, which was created by JYP Entertainment in 2015. In addition to her activities with Twice, where she frequently performs at the center and opens the group's songs, she has established a successful solo career.

As a child, Nayeon participated in a modeling contest and was cast by JYP Entertainment. Her mother initially prevented her from pursuing show business, but Nayeon secretly attended the agency's open audition on September 15, 2010, to become a trainee. In 2012, she appeared in the second episode of the television series Dream High 2. She was planned to debut in a group named 6mix in 2014, but the project was cancelled. For her education, she attended Seoul Myeongwon Elementary School, Seongdeok Girls' Middle School, and Apgujeong High School, later studying Theater and Film Arts at Konkuk University before taking a leave of absence.

In 2015, Nayeon competed on the reality show Sixteen and was selected as one of the nine members of Twice. The group made its official debut in October 2015 with the extended play The Story Begins.

Nayeon debuted as a solo artist on June 24, 2022, with her debut EP Im Nayeon. The EP peaked at number one on South Korea's Circle Album Chart and number seven on the US Billboard 200, making her the first South Korean soloist to reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200. The lead single "Pop!" reached number two on the Circle Digital Chart. Her solo work earned her a music show win on SBS Inkigayo and the Best Female Artist award at the 2022 MAMA Awards.

She released her second EP, Na, on June 14, 2024, earning her second number-one entry on the Circle Album Chart and another top-ten placement on the Billboard 200. The EP featured the single "ABCD" as well as collaborations with Sam Kim and Julie of Kiss of Life. In November 2024, she released a Korean version of "Beyond" for the film Moana 2.

In early 2025, Nayeon performed solo at Beat AX Vol.5 in Japan, leading to the digital release of her cover of "Kimagure Romantic" in May. Subsequent projects included a remix of Tayla Parx's single "Era" in June 2025, a performance at the Kaohsiung Beer Rock Festival in Taiwan in July 2025, and the soundtrack single "Love Is Enough" for the series Sold Out on You in May 2026.

Beyond music, Nayeon has served as a model, muse, and ambassador for brands including Smart School Uniform, Chaumet, Biotherm Korea, Olive Des Olive, Givenchy Beauty, Tommy Jeans, and Swarovski. She has also engaged in philanthropy, making major donations to the Community Chest of Korea and Save the Children.
