Momo

Momo Hirai, known mononymously as Momo, is a Japanese singer, dancer, and rapper based in South Korea. Born in Kyotanabe, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, she gained wide recognition as a member and main dancer of the South Korean girl group Twice, managed by JYP Entertainment.

Momo began her dance training at three years old. In 2012, she was scouted by JYP Entertainment after appearing in a dance video alongside her sister. After passing her audition, she relocated to South Korea to undergo professional music and dance training. In 2015, she competed on the reality television survival show Sixteen. Although initially eliminated during the competition, she was brought back in the final episode due to her exceptional performance abilities, officially joining the lineup of Twice.

Twice made its official debut in October 2015 with the extended play The Story Begins. Momo established a strong presence as one of the K-pop industry's premier dancers, earning widespread recognition for her choreography work and stage performances. In addition to group activities, she formed the sub-unit MiSaMo alongside Japanese bandmates Sana and Mina, releasing their Japanese debut extended play Masterpiece in 2023. Over the years, Momo has also taken on commercial ventures, serving as a brand ambassador and fashion muse for international cosmetic and apparel labels.

Momo actively records, performs, and tours internationally with Twice and MiSaMo. She remains a prominent Japanese figure in the global music scene, participating in major live concert tours, music releases, and commercial media engagements.
