Jihyo

Park Ji-hyo, known mononymously as Jihyo, is a South Korean singer who serves as the leader and vocalist of the girl group Twice, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2015. Born Park Ji-soo on February 1, 1997, in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, she attended Chungdam High School. She has two younger sisters: Park Ji-young, an actress and model known as Lee Ha-eum, and Park Seo-yeon, a member of the girl group TUIDE.

Jihyo began her training after placing second in a child star contest on Junior Naver, leading to a scout by SM Entertainment. After a year at SM, she followed her scout to JYP Entertainment in 2005 at age eight, training for ten years. During this period, she was the face of Innisfree's teen line alongside the boy band Boyfriend and trained alongside artists including Sunmi, Hyerim, Bae Suzy, Jo Kwon, and Nichkhun.

In 2014, Jihyo was set to debut in a group named 6Mix, but the project was cancelled. In 2015, after legally changing her name to Park Ji-hyo, she joined the reality competition show Sixteen and was selected as one of the nine members of Twice. Her bandmates subsequently voted her as the group's leader in an anonymous vote.

Twice debuted in October 2015 with the extended play The Story Begins, featuring the lead single "Like Ooh-Ahh," which became the first K-pop debut song to reach 100 million YouTube views. Recognized for her leadership, vocal range, and stage presence, Jihyo ranked second in November 2018 and third in May 2019 on the Korean Business Research Institute's Individual Girl Group Members Brand Power Ranking.

Jihyo launched her solo endeavors in 2022 with soundtrack songs for television series, including "Stardust Love Song" for Twenty-Five Twenty-One, "I Fly" for Today's Webtoon, and "A Strange Day" for Summer Strike. In August 2023, she released her debut solo extended play Zone and its lead single "Killin' Me Good." The record topped South Korea's Circle Album Chart, selling 584,225 copies in its first week, and reached number 14 on the US Billboard 200. On August 25, 2023, she earned her first solo music show win on KBS2's Music Bank.

Her television appearances in 2023 included episodes of I Live Alone, which yielded a Rookie Award nomination at the MBC Entertainment Awards, alongside MAMA Award nominations for Best Female Artist and Best Dance Performance (Female Solo). In June 2025, she featured on "Takedown" for the Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters, earning her first solo entry on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it reached number 50. She later released "New Days" for the Japanese adaptation of Marry My Husband, featured on Jenevieve's 2026 single "Hvnly," and released "Distant Lover" with Shenseea.

Jihyo has also worked as a brand representative. She became the brand model for South Korean cosmetics brand Milk Touch in January 2023, attended AMI Paris Spring Summer 2025 as an ambassador in June 2024, and was announced as a brand ambassador for Pond's Philippines alongside Tzuyu in September 2025.
