Im Yoon-ah

Im Yoon-ah, known mononymously as Yoona, is a South Korean singer and actress. Born on May 30, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea, she trained under SM Entertainment before making her official debut in August 2007 as a member of the girl group Girls' Generation. The group became one of the best-selling and most prominent musical acts in South Korea, earning global recognition and establishing her profile as a leading performer.

Im established a successful parallel career as an actress alongside her group activities. Her breakthrough television role came in the 2008 daily drama series You Are My Destiny, which earned her the Best New Actress award at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards. Over the following years, she expanded her repertoire across various television genres, taking on lead roles in popular series such as The K2, Big Mouth, and the romantic comedy King the Land.

In cinema, Im achieved significant commercial and critical success. She landed her first film role in the 2017 action comedy Confidential Assignment, followed by her first leading film role in the 2019 disaster thriller Exit, which became one of the highest-grossing South Korean films of all time. She later reprised her role in the 2022 film Confidential Assignment 2: International. In addition to acting, she released solo music, including her 2019 extended play A Walk to Remember, and continues to remain active in film and television projects.
