Taeyeon

Kim Tae-yeon, known mononymously as Taeyeon, is a South Korean singer born on March 9, 1989, in Jeonju, South Korea. She gained widespread recognition after making her official debut in August 2007 as the leader and main vocalist of the girl group Girls' Generation under SM Entertainment. The group went on to become one of the best-selling music acts in South Korea and a foundational artist in the global expansion of Korean popular music.

Following years of group releases and television soundtrack contributions, Taeyeon launched her official solo career in October 2015 with her debut extended play, "I". The release achieved commercial success and was followed by additional extended plays such as "Why", "Voice", and "Letter To Myself", as well as full-length studio albums including "My Voice", "Purpose", and "INVU". Alongside her solo work, she has continued to perform as a member of several project groups and sub-units, such as Girls' Generation-TTS, Girls' Generation-Oh!GG, and Got the Beat.

Throughout her career, Taeyeon has earned numerous accolades, including multiple Golden Disc Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards, and Seoul Music Awards. Beyond music, she has established an active presence on South Korean television, serving as a regular cast member on the popular variety program "Amazing Saturday". Renowned for her technical vocal ability and chart success, she remains one of the most prominent female soloists in the South Korean entertainment industry.
