Cheyenne Jackson

Cheyenne David Jackson is an American actor and singer known for his work in Broadway musicals, stage productions, films, television series, and concert performances. After beginning his career in regional theatre in Seattle, Washington, he moved to New York City to pursue acting professionally. He achieved his initial Broadway breakthrough with a leading role in the 2005 musical All Shook Up, which earned him a Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut.

Jackson was born on July 12, 1975, in Spokane, Washington, to David and Sherri Jackson, and was raised alongside three siblings in Oldtown, Idaho. Growing up in a rural household without running water, he was introduced to music by his mother, who taught her children to sing and played recordings by artists such as Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Presley. Jackson returned to Spokane as a teenager and later worked as an advertising executive for a magazine in Seattle while performing in regional theatre.

After moving to Manhattan, Jackson served as an understudy in Broadway productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie and Aida before originating the role of Chad in All Shook Up. He subsequently starred on Broadway as Sonny in Xanadu, earning nominations for both a Drama Desk Award and a Drama League Award. His additional Broadway and New York stage credits include revivals and productions of Damn Yankees, Finian's Rainbow, 8, The Heart of the Matter, The Performers, The Secret Garden, Into the Woods, Once Upon a Mattress, and Oh, Mary!.

In film, Jackson portrayed Mark Bingham in the 2006 drama United 93, earning a Boston Society of Film Critics award as part of the Best Ensemble Cast. He went on to star in the romantic comedy Mutual Friends, the drama Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, and the HBO biopic Behind the Candelabra, alongside appearances in titles such as Price Check, Lola Versus, and the Disney Channel original movie Descendants 3.

On television, Jackson played Danny Baker in the NBC comedy 30 Rock and coach Dustin Goolsby in Fox's Glee. Beginning in 2015, he starred in four seasons of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, portraying multiple main and recurring roles. His other television credits include starring as Max in the sitcom Call Me Kat, appearing on RuPaul's Drag Race and Sense8, and competing as Prince on season seven of The Masked Singer, where he placed third.

As a recording artist and concert singer, Jackson has sold out Carnegie Hall twice with his shows The Power of Two and Music of the Mad Men Era. He has released three solo studio albums, including I'm Blue, Skies and Renaissance, as well as the joint album The Power of Two with Michael Feinstein. Throughout his career, he has also performed in cabarets, recorded Broadway cast albums, and released multiple pop music singles.
