Masaki Suda

Masaki Suda, born Taishō Sugō on February 21, 1993, is a Japanese actor and singer. He has achieved widespread recognition for his work in Japanese film and television, earning top national honors for his screen performances.

Suda was born in Minoh, Osaka Prefecture. He grew up in a prominent family; his father, Arata Sugō, works as a management consultant, journalist, author, and television personality. Suda has two younger brothers, including the musical and internet personality Kocchi no Kento and the model Araki Sugō.

His path into the entertainment industry began during his school years when he was approached by talent agents. He subsequently participated in auditions for the agency Amuse Inc. as well as the Junon Superboy Contest. He landed a major early role starring in the tokusatsu television series Kamen Rider W.

Over the course of his acting career, Suda has appeared in a wide variety of live-action and animated projects. He starred in the live-action film adaptation of the manga series My Little Monster and provided voice work for Hayao Miyazaki's animated feature film The Boy and the Heron.

In addition to acting, Suda has pursued a career in music. After starring in a biographical film focused on the musician Hide from the band Greeeen, he participated in the release of an EP titled Green Boys. As a solo artist, he has released two full-length music albums, titled Play and Love.

Suda has earned significant critical acclaim for his performance art. His accolades include receiving the Best New Actor Award at the Tama Cinema Forum. Furthermore, he won the Japan Academy Film Prize for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the movie Wilderness.

In his personal life, Suda married actress Nana Komatsu on November 15, 2021, having previously co-starred alongside her in the feature films Drowning Love and Threads: Our Tapestry of Love. On March 9, 2024, Suda announced through his talent agency that the couple had welcomed their first child.
