Yui Aragaki

Yui Aragaki is a Japanese actress, model, singer, and radio presenter. Recognized as one of the country's most prominent media personalities, she has frequently topped Oricon's annual public surveys as both the most desired female celebrity face and the most sought-after girlfriend.

Her career in the entertainment industry expanded into music and radio alongside her screen acting. Following her involvement in the movie Koizora, she performed the track "Heavenly Days" and subsequently launched her initial studio record, Sora, which featured "Memories," a piece used as the main theme for the film Tokyo Serendipity. She also gave a live musical performance at the venue Budokan. Amid an intense schedule involving numerous film projects and her musical debut, she experienced work-related stress in 2007. Later, between 2010 and 2012, she served as a co-host for the radio show Girls Locks, and she was selected as a guest presenter for the 54th Japan Record Awards.

Throughout her television and film career, Aragaki has taken on a variety of prominent roles. Between 2012 and 2013, she starred alongside Masato Sakai in the popular comedy series Legal High. She portrayed a mother on screen for the first time in the 2014 feature Twilight Sasarasaya. In 2016, she played Moriyama Mikuri in the television drama The Full-Time Wife Escapist, during which she took part in the viral end-credits "koi dance." The following year, she starred in the NHK production Ties: A Miraculous Colt as Masako Matsushita, depicting a character raising ponies with her father following an earthquake. Her other 2017 screen projects included the third season of Code Blue and the Junichi Ishikawa-directed feature Mixed Doubles, where she played Tamako Tomita. In 2018, she starred as Shinkai Akira in the series We Can Not Become Beasts and reprised her role in Code Blue the Movie.

Aragaki has received several notable industry honors and high-profile invitations throughout her career. She won the Film prize at the 45th Golden Arrow Awards in 2008 and was named Best Actress at the 60th Blue Ribbon Awards. Additionally, she was invited to serve as an official judge for the NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen broadcast during both its 58th and 67th editions.

In 2021, Aragaki married singer, songwriter, and actor Gen Hoshino, who had previously been her co-star in The Full-Time Wife Escapist.
