About Lisa (rapper)
Lalisa Manobal, known mononymously as Lisa, is a Thai rapper, singer, dancer, and actress. She rose to prominence as a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink, which debuted under YG Entertainment in August 2016. Outside of group activities, she established her own artist management company, Lloud, in 2024 and signed with RCA Records to pursue her solo career.
Lisa was born Pranpriya Manobal on March 27, 1997, in Buriram province, Thailand, and later legally changed her name to Lalisa. Raised by her mother and stepfather, she completed secondary education at Praphamontree School I and II. She is multilingual, speaking native Thai alongside fluent Korean and English, as well as basic Japanese and Chinese. At an early age, she began taking dance lessons, joining the dance crew We Zaa Cool and competing in local singing and dance competitions.
In 2010, Lisa auditioned for South Korean record label YG Entertainment in Thailand and was selected as the sole qualifying applicant out of 4,000 candidates. She moved to South Korea in 2011 to become YG Entertainment's first non-ethnic Korean trainee. Before her official group debut, she appeared as a backup dancer in Taeyang's 2013 "Ringa Linga" music video and modeled for streetlight and cosmetics brands.
Following her August 2016 debut with Blackpink, Lisa took on various individual television and media projects. She appeared on the military variety program Real Man 300 in 2018, launched her YouTube channel Lilifilm Official, and served as a dance mentor on two seasons of the Chinese survival show Youth With You between 2020 and 2021.
In September 2021, Lisa launched her solo music career with the single album Lalisa, featuring the title track and the B-side single "Money". Both tracks achieved top-ten spots on the Billboard Global 200, and "Money" went on to reach one billion streams on Spotify. In late 2021, she collaborated with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion on the single "SG". In late 2023, she performed at the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris and chose not to renew her contract with YG Entertainment for individual activities.
Lisa launched Lloud in early 2024 and subsequently partnered with RCA Records. She released her debut studio album Alter Ego in February 2025, supported by singles including "Rockstar", "New Woman", "Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)", and "Born Again". In the same month, she made her professional acting debut under her given name Lalisa Manobal as Mook in the third season of the HBO series The White Lotus, and launched the comic company Lalisa Comics.
