Lalisa Manobal

Lalisa Manobal, known professionally as Lisa, is a Thai performer recognized as a rapper, singer, dancer, and actress. She gained international prominence after debuting in August 2016 as a member of the South Korean group Blackpink under YG Entertainment, which grew into one of the highest-selling female music groups of all time. Alongside her ensemble work, she has established a prominent career as a solo recording artist, established her own corporate management firm, and expanded into television acting.

Born Pranpriya Manobal in Buriram province, Thailand, on March 27, 1997, she later legally changed her given name to Lalisa. She was raised by her mother and stepfather and completed her secondary education at Praphamontree School I and II. Enrolling in dance classes at age four, she regularly entered talent competitions and joined the dance group We Zaa Cool. In 2010, she participated in a YG Entertainment audition in Thailand and was the only candidate selected out of thousands of applicants. She relocated to South Korea in 2011 to become the agency's first non-ethnic Korean trainee, later working as a music video backup dancer and commercial model prior to her group debut.

Following Blackpink's release of initial project material, Manobal broadened her individual profile through appearances on South Korean military variety programming, launching a personal YouTube video platform, and serving as a dance mentor on a Chinese television survival competition. In September 2021, she released her debut solo single album, Lalisa. The project set domestic sales records for first-week album purchases by a female solo artist in South Korea and produced the successful tracks "Lalisa" and "Money." Both singles attained high positions on global music charts, with the title track's video setting a 24-hour viewing record on YouTube for a solo performer and "Money" eventually surpassing one billion digital streams.

In early 2024, Manobal launched her independent management agency, Lloud, and partnered with RCA Records under an arrangement granting her full ownership of her master recordings. She issued several global tracks including "Rockstar," "New Woman," "Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)," and "Born Again" ahead of her debut studio album, Alter Ego, in February 2025. The project launched in the top ten of the primary album sales chart in the United States. That same month, she made her professional acting debut under her birth name in the third season of the HBO television drama series The White Lotus.

Throughout her career, Manobal has achieved significant industry recognition, earning multiple Guinness World Records, MTV Video Music Awards, and MTV Europe Music Awards. Beyond entertainment accolades, she was appointed a cultural ambassador leader by Thailand's Ministry of Culture and was formally commended by the country's prime minister for her efforts in promoting Thai culture internationally. She has also served as a global brand ambassador for several major international luxury fashion houses and ranks among the most followed figures on social media platforms.
