Ananda Everingham

Ananda Everingham, born Ananda Matthew Everingham on May 31, 1982, is a Thai actor and model who primarily works in the Thai film industry. He gained widespread international recognition for his starring performance in the 2004 horror movie Shutter.

Everingham was born in Thailand to a Laotian mother, Keo Sirisomphone, and an Australian photojournalist father, John Everingham, giving him Laotian and Australian heritage. His parents' romantic rescue story across the Mekong River in 1977 served as the basis for the 1983 NBC television film Love Is Forever. His parents divorced in 1997, and his father later remarried. Everingham grew up alongside a full brother and a half-brother, held Australian citizenship, and attended Bangkok Patana School while spending school breaks in Brisbane, Australia.

Early in his acting career, Everingham appeared in various genre films, including the teen-slasher project 303 Fear Faith Revenge and the horror-comedy Ghost Delivery. He later expanded his reach internationally by starring in the 2005 Singaporean romantic feature The Leap Years.

In 2007, Everingham took on lead roles in the romantic dramas Me... Myself and Bangkok Time. During the same period, he secured featured roles in the Singaporean drama Pleasure Factory as well as Pen-ek Ratanaruang's feature film Ploy.

Everingham continued his film work in 2008 by appearing in Nonzee Nimibutr's historical drama Queen of Langkasuka. That same year, he starred in Sabaidee Luang Prabang, notable as the initial commercial feature film made in Laos following the establishment of its communist government in 1975.
