Over her professional trajectory, she has appeared in a wide array of high-profile feature films and television series. Among her most widely recognized film projects are the historical feature The Warring States, the action titles Special ID and Police Story 2013, as well as large-scale international releases including The Great Wall, Kong: Skull Island, and Pacific Rim Uprising. On television, she is best known for her leading performances in historical and fantasy productions such as Legend of Ban Shu, The Glory of Tang Dynasty, and Rattan.

Jing pursued formal training in acting at the Beijing Film Academy. During her time as a student at the institution, she made her initial foray into the music industry by releasing a music album titled Who Are You, which was produced by Zhang Yadong. Shortly thereafter, she began her professional acting career in 2008, securing her debut screen role in the movie Anaconda Frightened and subsequently appearing in the period television drama titled The Epic of a Woman.

In 2009, Jing was selected for the central role in the historical drama Biography of Sun Tsu, a television project that was later broadcast to audiences in 2013. Her public profile grew significantly in 2011 following her role in the historical film The Warring States. Following the visibility gained from this project, she was cast in a series of major feature films. In 2013, she played main parts in the action features Special ID and Police Story 2013, and also participated in the film series From Vegas to Macau.

Her television career expanded in 2015 when she played the principal character in the historical romance series Legend of Ban Shu alongside co-star Zhang Zhehan. That same year, she took on another titular television role in the period drama titled The Legend of Xiao Zhuang. During this period, she was also featured in three major motion pictures supported by Wanda, including the Zhang Yimou-directed feature film The Great Wall, as well as the Hollywood productions Kong: Skull Island in 2017 and Pacific Rim Uprising in 2018.

Jing returned to prominent television work in 2017 with her role as Shen Zhenzhu in the historical fiction drama The Glory of Tang Dynasty, in which she starred alongside actor Ren Jialun. In 2018, she appeared with Chen Bolin in the fantasy drama series The King of Blaze, a production adapted from a manga series of the same name. She followed this in 2019 by co-starring with Chen Xiao in the road-trip romance drama Love Journey.

In 2021, Jing starred in the television fantasy production Rattan. Outside of her performance work, she was involved in a commercial promotion matter in 2022, during which she was fined the equivalent of 1.1 million US dollars for endorsing Infinite Free candy as a weight loss product.
