Jackson Yee

Jackson Yee, also known by his Chinese name Yi Yangqianxi, is a Chinese actor, singer, and performer born on November 28, 2000. He initially rose to prominent fame during the 2010s as a member of the popular idol group TFBoys. Over time, he established a distinguished acting career, becoming one of China's most commercially successful and critically acclaimed young performers.

Yee's entertainment career began in early childhood. Between 2005 and 2008, he appeared on various television variety shows. He joined the pop group Fashion Youngsters in 2009 before departing two years later, making his television acting debut in the 2010 series Iron Pear. After competing in a talent show in 2012, he signed with TF Entertainment, releasing his debut solo single Dream Skyscraper and acting in short films prior to officially launching with TFBoys in August 2013.

While continuing his musical efforts with TFBoys, Yee expanded into solo creative projects. He provided voice dubbing for animated features such as The Little Prince and acted in television dramas including Noble Aspirations and Song of Phoenix. In 2017, he established his own independent management studio and released several solo tracks, including English-language singles. He subsequently gained admission to the Central Academy of Drama after placing first in both academic and live auditions, and served as a captain on the dance competition show Street Dance of China.

Yee achieved his major cinematic breakthrough with the 2019 feature film Better Days, earning Best New Performer honors at the Hong Kong Film Awards, the Asian Film Awards, and the Hundred Flowers Awards. He followed this success with central roles in major releases, including A Little Red Flower, The Battle at Lake Changjin and its sequel, and the historical feature Full River Red. For his performance in Big World, he received the Best Actor award at both the Golden Rooster Awards and the Hundred Flowers Awards, making him the youngest performer to achieve both honors.

Expanding into art-house cinema, Yee starred in Resurrection, which was selected for the main competition at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in 2025 and received a Special Award. His role in the film earned him the Best Actor award from the China Film Director's Guild, and he became the first Chinese actor born after 2000 to cross 20 billion RMB in cumulative lifetime box office receipts.

Beyond acting, Yee actively participates in public service and international advocacy. He has served as a special envoy and health ambassador for the World Health Organization, promoting tobacco control, healthy living, and AIDS awareness. He established a personal charitable fund to assist youth in rural regions, represented China at the United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum, and was elected to the Chinese Film Association Council. In 2024, he was named an official Olympic Friend for the Paris 2024 Games.

Yee has represented numerous global brands across fashion, beauty, luxury, and food industries, including Armani, Tiffany & Co., Jaeger-LeCoultre, Lindberg, Golden Goose, and Nescafé. His career has also included public actions regarding corporate endorsements over geopolitical concerns and the voluntary withdrawal from a government theater appointment following public debate.
