Ni Ni

Ni Ni is a Chinese actress who gained prominent recognition following her debut in Zhang Yimou's 2011 war film The Flowers of War. Playing the leading female character Yu Mo, her performance received critical praise and established her in the entertainment industry. The publication Southern Metropolis Daily later recognized her as one of the "New Four Dan Actresses."

Born in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China, Ni attended the Communication University of China, Nanjing. During her higher education, she majored in television broadcasting and hosting before transitioning into professional acting.

Following her breakout, Ni featured in various film projects. In 2012 and 2013, she appeared in the mystery drama Redemption alongside Liu Ye, the romance film Love Will Tear Us Apart, and the road movie Up in the Wind. She went on to star in the 2014 coming-of-age film Fleet of Time and the 2015 Chinese adaptation of Bride Wars with Angelababy. Her film credits in 2016 included the Chinese-French fantasy feature The Warriors Gate and the romantic comedy Suddenly Seventeen. In 2017, she took roles in the fantasy action title Wu Kong and Tsui Hark's science fiction wuxia film The Thousand Faces of Dunjia.

In 2018, Ni made her television series debut in The Rise of Phoenixes alongside Chen Kun and performed her first single, "Why to No Avail," for its soundtrack. Forbes China recognized her influence on their 2017 30 Under 30 Asia list. In 2019, she returned to cinema in the crime film Savage, made her stage debut in Stan Lai's play One One Zero Eight, and starred in the television series Love and Destiny with Chang Chen. In 2020, she co-starred with Andy Lau in Shock Wave 2 and led the television drama My Best Friend's Story, earning a Magnolia Award nomination for Best Actress at the Shanghai Television Festival.

Ni starred in Zhang Lü's romantic drama Yanagawa in 2021, earning a Best Actress nomination at the 35th Golden Rooster Awards, and was cast in the series Night Wanderer. She then starred in the 2022 mystery crime feature Lost in the Stars alongside Zhu Yilong. Released theatrically in early 2023, the film grossed over ¥3.524 billion in China and earned her the Golden Deer Award for Best Actress at the 18th Changchun Film Festival.

Ni served as an Asian New Talent Awards jury member at the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival in 2024 and was appointed a jury member for the 15th Beijing International Film Festival in April 2025.

Throughout her career, Ni has represented major luxury and consumer brands. She became a spokesperson for Jaeger-LeCoultre, SK-II, Uniqlo, Tiffany & Co., and Cindy Chao The Art Jewel. Since 2017, she has maintained a long-standing association with Gucci as a global brand ambassador and face of numerous campaigns. She has also served as a global representative for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Vaseline in Asia-Pacific, L'Oréal Hair-care, and Lancôme, where she became a global spokesperson in August 2024.
