Chen Bolin

Chen Bolin, also known as Wilson Chen, is a Taiwanese actor. He gained widespread recognition through his performances in feature films such as Blue Gate Crossing, Buddha Mountain, The Continent, and 20 Once Again, as well as his lead role in the television series In Time with You.

Born on August 27, 1983, Chen attended high school where he appeared on the Taiwanese variety program Red Versus White after drawing attention for his physical resemblance to actor Takeshi Kaneshiro. He later pursued his higher education at the Jinwen University of Science and Technology.

Chen made his acting debut in the feature film Blue Gate Crossing, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival and earned critical praise. He subsequently expanded his reach outside of Taiwan by taking supporting roles in Hong Kong cinematic productions, including The Twins Effect II, A Chinese Tall Story, and Kung Fu Dunk.

His career reached a major turning point in 2011. He secured a nomination for Best Actor at the Deauville Asian Film Festival for his work in the independent film Buddha Mountain. That same year, Chen won the Golden Bell Award for Best Actor for his role in the successful drama series In Time with You. Outside of acting, he appeared on the Taiwanese game show All Pass in early 2012, becoming the sole contestant to answer the final question correctly—identifying Ouyang Xiu—and claim the grand prize of NT$100,000.

Chen received the Outstanding Performance award at the 2013 Chinese Film Media Awards for his performance in the romantic film Snowfall in Taipei. In 2014, he appeared in Han Han's road trip comedy film The Continent. The following year, Chen joined the Korean agency BM+ Entertainment to expand his international career. He starred in 20 Once Again, a Chinese remake of Miss Granny that achieved $32,350,000 at the box office and set a revenue record for joint Korean-Chinese film productions.

Continuing his international cross-over work, Chen starred in two Chinese-Korean co-productions: the black comedy Bad Guys Always Die alongside Son Ye-jin, and the romantic comedy Life Risking Romance alongside Ha Ji-won. In 2016, he appeared alongside Song Ji-hyo on the virtual marriage reality show We Got Married, and he was cast in the Korean television series Monster. He later starred in the 2017 Disney-produced romantic comedy feature film The Dreaming Man.
