Vivian Sung

Vivian Sung Yun-hua, born on October 21, 1992, is a Taiwanese actress best known for her leading roles in film and television. She established herself as a major figure in Taiwanese entertainment after starring in several commercially successful features, ultimately achieving a cumulative global box office total exceeding US$450 million by 2024. Over her career, she has performed across diverse genres ranging from romantic comedies and fantasy series to international dramas.

Prior to her screen debut, Sung appeared in short films and music videos created alongside her friends. Her featured role in the music video for the song "So I Stopped" by IGUband circulated widely among student audiences, drawing industry attention and additional acting offers. Recognizing an interest in professional entertainment, she subsequently signed a management contract with Star Ritz while completing her higher education at Fu Jen Catholic University in the Department of Textiles and Clothing.

In 2014, while still a third-year university student, Sung landed her first feature film performance as the female lead in Giddens Ko's romantic comedy Café. Waiting. Love. Following an extensive audition process, she was cast as Lee Si-ying, and the movie went on to earn over NT$200 million at the Taiwanese box office. She achieved widespread recognition the following year by starring as Lin Zhen-xin in the 2015 feature Our Times. Directed by Frankie Chen and produced by Yeh Ju-fen, the film surpassed NT$400 million domestically. For her performance, the 22-year-old actress earned a Golden Horse Award nomination for Best Leading Actress, making her the youngest candidate in her category that year.

Sung expanded into television work shortly after her early film successes. She took on a lead role as a food-obsessed tour guide in Taste of Love before starring in the Chinese fantasy web series Proud of Love from 2016 to 2017. Her film career continued with the 2017 release Take Me to the Moon, followed by the 2019 feature Nina Wu. In 2020, she reunited with actor Marcus Chang in the fantasy drama series Lost Romance, playing a publishing editor who becomes trapped inside a romance novel. The show was recognized by DailyView as the year's most popular Taiwanese drama. Later that year, she launched a YouTube channel featuring content alongside industry colleagues.

In 2021, Sung reteamed with Giddens Ko for the popular box-office title Till We Meet Again. She ventured into international cinema in 2022 by starring in the French film For My Country, directed by Rachid Hami, performing entirely in English alongside Shaïn Boumedine; the project premiered at the Venice Film Festival. In 2023, she played the lead in Miss Shampoo and delivered a bilingual Mandarin and English performance in My Heavenly City. Her television work that year included playing twin sisters in Disney+'s Taiwan Crime Stories and a police officer in the fantasy comedy series Oh No! Here Comes Trouble, which achieved high viewership on regional streaming platforms.

Sung's television career continued into 2024 with the drama series The Cleaner, where she portrayed the daughter of a cleaning firm president involved in trauma scene remediation. The program spent three consecutive weeks at the top of Netflix's Taiwanese rankings. In 2025, she starred in the film 96 Minutes, which generated over NT$200 million locally before reaching global audiences via Netflix, where it accumulated 3.1 million first-week views and ranked among the top non-English films worldwide in early 2026.
