Nana Ou-yang

Ouyang Nana, born on June 15, 2000, is a Taiwanese musician, singer, and actress who belongs to a family recognized for its artistic background in Taiwan. While she began her musical development at an early age as a cellist, she has established her primary professional career in mainland China. Over the course of her public career, she has performed in high-profile classical and popular music venues, acted in several feature films and television series, and appeared on prominent entertainment television shows.

Her classical training commenced after being inspired by cellist Mei-Ying Liao. She began playing the guitar at four, the piano at five, and the cello at six years old. In her early youth, she took top honors across cello and guitar categories at the Wenhua Taiwan Cup Music Competition. She enrolled in the music program at Dunhua Elementary School in 2008, graduating with top honors in 2012, and joined the Affiliated Junior High School of National Taiwan Normal University. In 2010, she became the principal cellist for the Century Youth Orchestra. After winning first-place titles at the Grand Taiwan National Music Competition, the National Music Competition of Taiwan, and the Taiwan School Year 100 National Music Competition, she made her debut as the youngest cellist to perform a solo recital at the Concert Hall of Taiwan in 2012.

In 2013, Ouyang entered the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, leaving in 2015 to concentrate on her career. Upon signing with Universal Music, she released her debut solo classical album, titled 15, followed by her debut single "Warming Your Winter" in 2016. She released her second album, Cello Loves Disney, in 2017, and became the first Asian artist to perform at the Breakthrough Prize awards ceremony, where she played "See You Again" alongside rapper Wiz Khalifa. She later resumed her classical education at the Berklee College of Music in September 2018 under Mike Block, completing her studies with a diploma in 2024.

Ouyang launched her acting career in 2014 playing a cellist in the romantic film Beijing Love Story. She was subsequently nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Macau International Film Festival for her role in the sports film To the Fore. She appeared alongside Jackie Chan in Bleeding Steel and made her television debut in the 2016 romantic comedy Yes! Mr. Fashion. She later played lead roles in the 2017 film Secret Fruit and the 2018 adventure series The Great Ruler, alongside participating in the variety show The Birth of An Actor.

Outside of entertainment, Ouyang's political statements have drawn public commentary. In March 2019, following public discussions involving her father Ouyang Lung's political remarks, she publicly affirmed her identity as Chinese and declared her opposition to Taiwanese independence across multiple international social media platforms. In March 2021, she publicly expressed support for cotton produced in Xinjiang. She later endorsed a statement by China Central Television regarding Chinese unification in 2024, and in December 2025, she reshared state media coverage of military exercises near Taiwan, asserting that Taiwan is Chinese territory. These public statements subsequently prompted an investigation by Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council.
