Jeremy Strong

Jeremy Strong is an American actor born on December 25, 1978, known for his immersive performance style across stage, film, and television. He achieved global recognition for his portrayal of Kendall Roy in the drama series Succession, a role that earned him widespread critical acclaim. Over the course of his career, he has received major accolades including a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Tony Award, alongside nominations for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award. In 2022, he was included on Time magazine's annual list of the world's 100 most influential people.

Raised in a working-class family in Boston, Massachusetts, Strong moved to the suburb of Sudbury at age ten, where he first became involved in youth theater productions. He developed a strong interest in dramatic craft and spent time working in entry-level crew positions on major film sets during his youth. Strong attended Yale University, where he initially intended to study drama before switching his academic focus to English while continuing to perform in student-led plays. He subsequently pursued formal acting training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago.

After moving to New York City in 2001, Strong spent several years seeking acting work while supporting himself through odd jobs and behind-the-scenes theater and film positions, including assisting actor Daniel Day-Lewis and playwright Wendy Wasserstein. He made his off-Broadway debut in 2006 with the play Defiance and performed in productions such as New Jerusalem before making his Broadway debut in a 2008 revival of A Man for All Seasons. That same year, he made his feature film debut in Humboldt County, which led to supporting roles in notable historical and biographical films including Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty, Parkland, and The Big Short.

Strong achieved a major career breakthrough when he was cast as Kendall Roy in the HBO television series Succession (2018–2023). His performance across the show's four seasons won him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series as well as a Golden Globe Award. During and immediately following his tenure on the series, he appeared in prominent feature films including The Gentlemen, The Trial of the Chicago 7, and Armageddon Time.

In 2024, Strong returned to the Broadway stage in a revival of Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People, winning the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play. That same year, he starred as attorney Roy Cohn in the biographical drama The Apprentice, earning Best Supporting Actor nominations for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and an Actor Award. His subsequent work includes playing music executive Jon Landau in the 2025 biographical film Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, executive producing the documentary The White House Effect, and serving as a jury member at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. His announced future projects include portraying Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Reckoning and producing and starring in the series 9/12.
