Callum Turner

Callum Robilliard Turner is a British actor and former model. He first worked as a fashion model before transitioning into film and television roles. He is best known for starring as John Boorman's lead in the drama film Queen and Country (2014), portraying Eli in the mystery drama series Glue (2014), and playing Theseus Scamander in the fantasy films Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022). He also gained prominent recognition for his starring role in the mystery series The Capture (2019).

Turner was born on 15 February 1990 in Hammersmith, London, England. He was raised on a council estate in Chelsea, London, by his mother, who worked as a club promoter and instilled in him a passion for cinema. His middle name was given in memory of poet David Robilliard. Turner left school early to play semi-professional football before working at Dover Street Market and entering the modeling industry.

In 2010, Turner began his modeling career, appearing in campaigns for brands such as Next and Reebok. He made his screen debut that same year in the University of Hertfordshire student short film Think of England. He went on to star in the 2011 film Zero and the 2012 short film Human Beings, as well as the music video for The Shoes' "Time to Dance" alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. His early television work included appearances in the ITV series Leaving and the drama series The Town in 2012.

Turner expanded his acting career in 2013 with guest roles in The Borgias, Ripper Street, and the short film Alleycats. His breakthrough arrived in 2014 when he starred in Queen and Country, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival's Directors' Fortnight. The same year, he starred in the E4 series Glue and was named one of the BAFTA Breakthrough Brits. He subsequently appeared in Paul McGuigan's horror film Victor Frankenstein (2015), the comedy-drama Tramps (2016), and Mobile Homes (2017).

In 2018, Turner co-wrote and directed the short film Shift the Plane and played Theseus Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts film series. His performance as Shaun Emery in the 2019 BBC One series The Capture earned him a nomination for the British Academy Television Award for Best Actor. He followed this with roles as Frank Churchill in Emma (2020) and Anthony O'Hare in The Last Letter from Your Lover (2021).

Turner starred as Joe Rantz in the George Clooney-directed biographical drama The Boys in the Boat (2023) and as John "Bucky" Egan in the miniseries Masters of the Air (2024). His announced projects include the fantasy romantic comedy Eternity (2025), the Apple TV+ series Neuromancer, and the feature films One Night Only and Rosebush Pruning.

In his personal life, Turner is a supporter of Chelsea F.C. He dated actress Vanessa Kirby from 2015 to 2019. In January 2024, he began a relationship with singer-songwriter Dua Lipa. The couple announced their engagement in July 2025 and were married in May 2026.
