Eve Hewson

Memphis Eve Sunnyday Iris Hewson is an Irish actress known for her performances across feature films and television series. After making her early screen appearances in independent productions, she achieved broader visibility through major historical dramas, psychological thrillers, and television comedies.

Hewson was born in Dublin, Ireland, on 7 July 1991, as the second daughter of activist Ali Hewson and musician Bono. She was raised in the suburb of Killiney alongside her three siblings, and her birth date and time inspired her middle name. She received her early education at the Dalkey School Project and St. Andrew's College. Although her parents initially discouraged her from pursuing acting, she attended a short program at the New York Film Academy in 2008. She went on to study acting with a minor focus on psychology at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in 2013.

Hewson began building her professional career while still a student, appearing in a 2010 music video and short film for the band The Script. She secured her first major feature film role in the 2011 drama This Must Be the Place. In 2013, she played Yvonne in the thriller Blood Ties, appeared in the romantic comedy Enough Said, and co-organized a crowdsourcing initiative for a project called Roadies. Her early film work earned her a nomination for the Tatler Irish Woman of the Year Award in late 2013.

From 2014 to 2015, Hewson co-starred in the historical television series The Knick. She followed this with roles in prominent feature films, depicting Carol Donovan in Steven Spielberg's Cold War drama Bridge of Spies in 2015 and portraying Maid Marian in the 2018 adaptation of Robin Hood.

In the early 2020s, Hewson played leading roles in several high-profile miniseries. She starred as Anna Wetherell in the 2020 drama The Luminaries and as Adele in the 2021 psychological thriller Behind Her Eyes. She subsequently appeared in the 2022 comedy series Bad Sisters and joined the main cast of the 2024 mystery project The Perfect Couple.

Hewson played the title character in the 2023 musical drama Flora and Son and was cast in Steven Spielberg's 2026 film Disclosure Day. Having previously lived in Brooklyn and later in Killiney following the COVID-19 pandemic, she established her residence in Los Angeles by mid-2026.
