Mirren Mack

Mirren Mack is a Scottish actress born on December 8, 1997, in Stirling, Scotland. She is widely recognized for her television roles, including Kaya in the BBC television drama series The Nest, Florence in the Netflix series Sex Education, and Princess Merwyn in the fantasy prequel miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin. Additionally, she has garnered acclaim for her work on stage, notably portraying Queenie in the Royal National Theatre’s 2022 performance of Small Island.

Raised in Stirling, Mack grew up in a family with deep ties to the performing arts. Her father, Billy, works as an actor, while her mother, Callan, serves as a drama tutor. Her younger sister, Molly, is also an actress, and the two sisters performed together as dancers during the 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow. Mack completed her early education at Riverside Primary School and Wallace High School in Stirling. During her fifth year at high school, she attended the Dance School of Scotland's Musical Theatre program. In 2016, she was honored with the Dewar Arts Award for outstanding Scottish artistic talent, which supported her audition process for the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Acting.

Mack began her professional acting career on stage, performing as Mayor Maggie in a production of Bat Boy at the Citizen's Theatre. Her performance earned her the Musical Theatre Award as well as the drama award for her academic year. She continued to build her theatrical resume with a role in the 2020 play Wound, written by Philip Ridley. In 2022, she took on major stage roles, portraying Ophelia in the Bristol Old Vic's adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, as well as playing Queenie in the Royal National Theatre's production of Small Island in London.

In 2019, Mack made her television debut appearing as Florence in three episodes of the popular Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education. The following year, in 2020, she secured her first lead role as Kaya in the BBC drama series The Nest, starring alongside actors Martin Compston and Sophie Rundle. Following the lifting of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, she also participated in the seventh series of the Sky Arts show Portrait Artist of the Year.

Mack's television career continued to expand in August 2021 when she began filming the Netflix fantasy miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin. Set 1,200 years prior to the events of The Witcher, the series featured Mack in a main role as Princess Merwyn within an ensemble cast that included Lenny Henry, Laurence O'Fuarain, and Michelle Yeoh. The project was officially released on Netflix on December 25, 2022.

In 2024, Mack featured as Katherine Villiers, Duchess of Buckingham, appearing across three episodes of the Sky Atlantic period drama series Mary & George. In September 2025, she was cast as Lucie Manette in an upcoming BBC One miniseries adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel A Tale of Two Cities.
