Skyler Gisondo

Skyler Augustus Gisondo is an American actor born on July 22, 1996. He is best known for his roles in feature films such as Licorice Pizza, Booksmart, Vacation, and Superman, as well as television series including Psych, The Righteous Gemstones, and Santa Clarita Diet.

Gisondo was born in Palm Beach County, Florida, to Stacey and Ron Gisondo, both ocean engineers. He grew up in Florida before moving to South Bay, Los Angeles. His last name stems from his paternal grandfather, who was Italian-American, while his other three grandparents were Jewish. After he began working frequently as an actor, he was homeschooled for several years. He graduated from Milken Community High School in Los Angeles in 2014 and enrolled at the University of Southern California's film school in 2015, later taking a hiatus to film Santa Clarita Diet.

Gisondo began acting on television at age six after his mother sent his photos to talent agencies, leading to a role in a national Pizza Hut commercial. In 2003, he made his television debut on the comedy-drama series Miss Match. He made his feature film debut in the 2006 drama Jam and provided the voice for B-Dawg in the comedy film Air Buddies, a role he reprised in several subsequent installments. From 2007 to 2009, he played a main role on the sitcom The Bill Engvall Show. His other early film appearances included Halloween, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, and Four Christmases.

In 2010, Gisondo began a recurring role as a young Shawn Spencer in the comedy-drama series Psych. He went on to appear in films such as The Three Stooges, The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, and Vacation. From 2017 to 2019, he starred as Eric Bemis in the comedy horror series Santa Clarita Diet. During this period, he also appeared in films including Class Rank, Time Freak, Feast of the Seven Fishes, Booksmart, and The Cat and the Moon, and joined the cast of The Righteous Gemstones in 2019 as Gideon Gemstone.

In the 2020s, Gisondo appeared in the docudrama film The Social Dilemma, the comedy film The Binge, The Starling, and Licorice Pizza. From 2021 to 2022, he voiced the lead role of Dale in the animated series Fairfax, and in 2022 he was cast in the mystery series The Resort. In July 2025, he appeared as Jimmy Olsen in the film Superman. He is also set to portray Henry Focker in Focker-in-Law and voice Farkle in the 2027 film Shrek 5.

Over the course of his career, Gisondo won Outstanding Young Performers in a TV Series at the 30th Young Artist Awards for The Bill Engvall Show, as well as a ensemble award at the 33rd Young Artist Awards for Spooky Buddies. Off screen, he lives in Manhattan Beach, California. While filming Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb in Vancouver, he enlisted co-stars Ben Stiller and Robin Williams to help him record a promposal video for his senior prom.
