Nick Jonas

Nicholas Jerry Jonas (born September 16, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He first gained widespread public recognition as a member of the pop rock band the Jonas Brothers, alongside his brothers Joe and Kevin. In addition to his work with the group, Jonas has established a career as a solo recording artist, Broadway performer, and screen actor.

Jonas was born in Dallas, Texas, to Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas. His father is a musician, songwriter, and former ordained minister, while his mother is a former sign language teacher and singer. Raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, and homeschooled by his mother, Jonas grew up alongside his younger brother Frankie and older brothers Joe and Kevin. He was discovered at age six in a barber shop and began performing in Broadway theatre productions at seven. In 2003, he released his debut single, "Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)," which he co-wrote with his father. In 2005, at age 13, Jonas was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

After initially signing as a solo artist with Columbia Records and releasing the limited album Nicholas Jonas in 2004, Columbia executive Steve Greenberg signed Jonas and his brothers as a group. Following a move to Hollywood Records, the Jonas Brothers achieved commercial success with their self-titled 2007 album and its top-twenty single "S.O.S." The band starred in the Disney Channel musical film Camp Rock (2008) and its 2010 sequel, as well as the television series Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream and Jonas. Their 2008 release, A Little Bit Longer, debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart.

During a group hiatus, Jonas formed the band Nick Jonas & the Administration, releasing an album in 2010. The Jonas Brothers officially split in 2013 following creative differences. Transitioning back to solo material, Jonas signed with Island Records and released his self-titled album Nick Jonas in 2014, featuring the US Billboard Hot 100 top-ten single "Jealous." His third studio album, Last Year Was Complicated (2016), peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 and contained the single "Close." For his songwriting contributions, he received the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Alongside his musical projects, Jonas built an acting portfolio with television roles in Kingdom, Scream Queens, Smash, and Hawaii Five-0. His film credits include Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), Chaos Walking (2021), and Power Ballad (2026). The Jonas Brothers reunited in 2019, while Jonas continued his solo work with the album Spaceman (2021) and later signed with Republic Records to release Sunday Best (2026).
