Song Yuqi

Song Yuqi, known mononymously as Yuqi, is a Chinese singer, songwriter, dancer, and record producer born on September 23, 1999, in Beijing, China. She is widely recognized as a member of the South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE, which debuted under Cube Entertainment in May 2018. Within the group, she is known for her distinct deep vocal timbre, active role in performance, and contributions to song composition and production.

Song spent her youth in Beijing, where she attended Beijing 101 Middle School and developed an interest in music and dance. After successfully passing an audition for Cube Entertainment, she moved to South Korea to begin her training as a K-pop idol. Following her group debut, she broadened her artistic career into songwriting and producing, earning credits on multiple tracks released by (G)I-DLE.

In addition to her group work, Song launched a solo career in May 2021 with the release of her single album, A Page, featuring the tracks "Giant" and "Bonnie & Clyde." She officially released her debut solo extended play, YUQ1, in April 2024. Alongside her music releases, she has built a significant presence in television and web programming, notably serving as a regular cast member on the Chinese variety show Keep Running starting in 2019 and hosting the Korean web series Learn Way from 2020 to 2021.
