Soojin

Seo Soo-jin, known professionally by the mononym Soojin, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and rapper. Born on March 9, 1998, she first gained prominence as a member of the South Korean girl group (G)I-dle under Cube Entertainment. Following her departure from the group in 2021, she subsequently established a solo music career under BRD Communications.

Soojin was born in Gyeonggi, South Korea, and attended Waw Middle School in Hwaseong. While studying at the Korean Arts High School, she practiced taekwondo and learned jazz dance. Early in her life, she decided to pursue a career in singing, though it took two years of effort to convince her father to support her decisions.

Her early career began as a trainee under DN Entertainment. She was initially intended to debut as a member of the girl group Vividiva using the stage name N.Na, participating in several photo shoots and performances before leaving the agency in 2015. In 2016, she joined Cube Entertainment as a trainee. Between 2017 and 2018, she appeared as a masked, unknown dancer in music videos for the solo songs "Jelly" and "Idle Song" by fellow performer Soyeon.

Soojin was officially revealed as a member of (G)I-dle in 2018. The group debuted on May 2, 2018, with the release of their mini album I Am and its lead single "Latata," making their debut stage performance on Mnet's M Countdown. In October 2020, Glance TV paired Soojin with fellow group member Minnie for the fashion show Minnie Soojin's i'M THE TREND, which premiered October 14 on Naver Style TV. On the show, the duo engaged in styling battles for the title of 'Trend Center' while sharing styling secrets, outfits, shopping tips, and a 'Fashion Film' video pictorial.

In March 2021, Soojin temporarily halted her professional activities after former classmates raised allegations of bullying against her. Cube Entertainment announced her official withdrawal from (G)I-dle on August 14, 2021, with the group continuing as a five-member ensemble. The agency subsequently terminated her contract on March 5, 2022, following police investigations that concluded accusers were not guilty of spreading false information. On September 8, 2022, Soojin's legal representative stated that the school's Autonomous Committee for School Violence Countermeasures had found her not guilty, determined she had been a victim of bullying, and concluded that no further legal action would be pursued.

In October 2023, Soojin signed an exclusive contract with BRD to prepare for her solo debut. After teasing her release with the dance performance video "Black Forest" on October 25, she officially debuted as a soloist on November 8, 2023, with her EP Agassy. On May 23, 2024, she released her second EP, Rizz, featuring the title track "Mona Lisa." It was later announced on August 13, 2025, that she would release her first single, "Baditude," on August 27.
