Cho Mi-yeon

Cho Mi-yeon, better known mononymously as Miyeon, is a South Korean singer, actress, and television presenter. Born on January 31, 1997, in Incheon, South Korea, she rose to international prominence as the main vocalist of the widely acclaimed K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE under Cube Entertainment. Renowned for her clear vocal timbre, impressive range, and commanding stage presence, Miyeon has built a multifaceted career spanning music releases, television hosting, acting roles, and digital content creation.

Early Life & Pre-Debut

Miyeon developed a passion for music at an early age, encouraged by her family to pursue vocal training along with learning instruments such as the piano, violin, and guitar. In middle school, she joined YG Entertainment as a trainee, spending roughly five years honing her performance skills and preparing for a career in the Korean entertainment industry. After departing YG Entertainment, she continued her music education at an academy to study composition and vocal technique. She subsequently joined Cube Entertainment in 2017, completing a shorter training period before her official debut.

Career with (G)I-DLE & Solo Endeavors

Miyeon officially debuted in May 2018 as a member of (G)I-DLE with their debut extended play, I Am, and its hit lead single Latata. The group quickly achieved commercial and critical success. Later in 2018, Miyeon gained global recognition by voicing the character Ahri in K/DA, a virtual K-pop girl group created by Riot Games for the League of Legends universe, performing on hit tracks like POP/STARS. Beyond group activities, she launched her solo music career in April 2022 with the mini-album MY and its title track Drive. She followed up her solo discography with her second mini-album, MY, Lover, in late 2025.

Hosting, Acting & Content Creation

In addition to her singing career, Miyeon has established herself as a popular television host and online personality. She co-hosted the weekly broadcast music show M Countdown for nearly three years, earning praise for her charismatic hosting style. She has also appeared in various web series and drama soundtracks.
