Minji

Kim Min-ji, known mononymously as Minji, is a South Korean singer best known as a member of the girl group NewJeans. Born on May 7, 2004, in Gangwon Province, South Korea, she grew up as the middle of three children. During her elementary school years, she spent time studying in Canada, where she gained proficiency in English. She subsequently pursued her high school education at the Hanlim Multi Art School in Seoul, graduating in February 2023.

Minji began her journey in the music industry as a trainee at Source Music in 2017 before moving under ADOR, a subsidiary label of HYBE Corporation. Prior to her formal music debut, she gained initial public visibility in 2019 after appearing in promotional material for HYBE's Plus Global Audition campaign. In July 2021, she featured alongside her future bandmate Hanni in the music video for the BTS track "Permission to Dance."

In July 2022, Minji officially debuted as a member of NewJeans with the release of the hit single "Attention." The group quickly achieved widespread acclaim and commercial success both in South Korea and internationally. Minji contributed to the group's artistic endeavors as a vocalist and songwriter, earning lyric writing credits on notable tracks such as the 2022 chart-topping single "Ditto."

In addition to her musical work, Minji has built a presence in fashion, media, and television hosting. She has served as a brand ambassador for global luxury labels, including Chanel, and has been featured on the covers of prominent fashion magazines. She has also appeared on various variety programs and served as a special host for broadcast music shows.
