Danielle Marsh

Danielle June Marsh, also known as Mo Ji-hye, is an Australian and South Korean singer. Born on April 11, 2005, she is best known as a former member of the South Korean girl group NewJeans, which was created by the Hybe subsidiary ADOR. In addition to her musical work, she has engaged in voice acting, television hosting, and brand endorsements.

Danielle was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, to an Australian father and a South Korean mother. Her older sister, Olivia Marsh, is also a singer who debuted in 2024. In 2009, Danielle's family moved to Paju, South Korea. As a child, she appeared on television shows such as Rainbow Kindergarten and My Heart's Crayon in 2011, followed by Shinhwa Broadcasting and Jesse's Play Kitchen in 2012. Later in 2012, at age seven, she returned to Australia to attend primary school.

In 2020, Danielle returned to South Korea to become a K-pop trainee. She made her official debut with NewJeans on July 22, 2022, releasing the single "Attention," which she co-wrote. The track topped South Korea's Circle Digital Chart and won Best K-pop Song at the 20th Korean Music Awards. She ultimately contributed to songwriting on five NewJeans tracks.

In 2023, Danielle voiced Ariel in the Korean dub of The Little Mermaid, receiving praise for her voice acting and singing. She recorded several songs for the soundtrack, including "Part of Your World," which reached number two on Billboard's Hot Trending Songs chart in May 2023. In May 2024, she hosted the Korea on Stage – New Generation concert. Additionally, she served as a global ambassador for Burberry, Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, Celine, and Omega between 2023 and 2024.

Danielle's career with ADOR ended following legal disputes involving former CEO Min Hee-jin and parent company Hybe. After group members declared their contracts terminated in November 2024, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in November 2025 that the agreements were valid until 2029. ADOR terminated Danielle's exclusive contract on December 29, 2025, removing her from NewJeans.

On December 30, 2025, ADOR filed a lawsuit against Danielle, a member of her family, and Min Hee-jin for approximately ₩43 billion (US$29.8 million) in damages. Danielle appointed a legal representative, and hearings began at the Seoul Central District Court on May 14, 2026. ADOR later adjusted the damages request to ₩33 billion in June 2026.
