Hyein

Lee Hye-in, known mononymously as Hyein, is a South Korean singer and former child model. Born on April 21, 2008, she began her musical career as a child before gaining widespread recognition as a member of the South Korean girl group NewJeans, which was formed by ADOR in July 2022. Prior to her debut with NewJeans, she engaged in modeling projects and performed as a member of youth music groups.

Hyein was born in Michuhol District, Incheon, South Korea. She attended Munhak Elementary School, but later dropped out shortly after taking the school's qualification exam. As a child model, she worked as the seventh model for the snapback brand PRANKERS in August 2019. At age eleven, she walked the runway during the 2019 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Moscow, Russia, in October 2019. In December of that year, she won the grand prize at the 2019 Little Look of the Year child modeling competition. She subsequently served as an advertising model for brands such as Tara & Co. and Emart's No Brand.

Hyein's musical activities began in July 2017, when she was announced as a member of the children's girl group U.sso Girl under the stage name U.Jeong alongside Rora of Babymonster. The group made its debut on November 7, 2017, with the digital single "Go Go Sing," and Hyein departed from the group in 2018. On January 11, 2019, she was revealed as a member of the children's co-ed group Play with Me Club, which released its debut digital single "Let's Play" on December 16, 2020. During this time, she appeared on the EBS children's television program Live Talk! Talk! Boni Hani! as a member of the co-ed dance group SIXDANCE before graduating from Play with Me Club in May 2021.

On July 1, 2022, ADOR teased the debut of NewJeans by posting animated videos on social media featuring the numbers 22, 7, and 22. Hyein officially debuted with NewJeans on July 22, 2022, following the surprise release of the music video for their debut single "Attention," which occurred without prior promotional announcements or member disclosures. Outside her work with the group, Hyein featured alongside singer Wonsun Joe on the track "Shh.." from singer-songwriter IU's sixth extended play, The Winning, in February 2024.

In addition to her music career, Hyein has earned recognition through major fashion endorsements. On December 30, 2022, luxury brand Louis Vuitton appointed her as a global house ambassador, making her the youngest ambassador in the brand's history at fourteen years old. In this role, she has represented the brand at Paris Fashion Week. In April 2023, she also became the youngest cover girl to be featured on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Korea.
