Kathryn Bernardo

Kathryn Chandria Manuel Bernardo is a Filipino actress known for starring in several of the highest-grossing Filipino feature films of all time, including The Hows of Us, Hello, Love, Goodbye, and Hello, Love, Again. Widely recognized for her leading roles in television and cinema, her accolades include two FAMAS Awards, a Seoul International Drama Award, an Asian World Film Festival Award, and 14 Box Office Entertainment Awards. Forbes Asia also included her on its list of the most influential figures in the Asia-Pacific region.

Bernardo was born on March 26, 1996, in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, as the youngest of four children to Luzviminda and Teodore Bernardo. She attended Flowerlane Montessori Children's House in her hometown and later OB Montessori Center in Quezon City. To manage her acting career, she enrolled in a homeschooling program through UST Angelicum College in 2011. She subsequently pursued a degree in marketing at Enderun Colleges, though her studies were put on hold due to television filming demands.

She began her career in 2003 with small appearances in television and film, including It Might Be You and Lupe: A Seaman's Wife. Her first major television role arrived in 2006 as part of the cast of Super Inggo, followed by appearances in shows such as Krystala, Vietnam Rose, and the youth comedy Goin' Bulilit. Bernardo achieved her public breakthrough in 2010 playing the title role in the drama series Mara Clara. She subsequently starred in the teen series Growing Up and gained further film notice in Way Back Home and Shake, Rattle & Roll 13 in 2011.

In 2012, Bernardo starred in the television series Princess and I, initiating a long-running professional partnership with actor Daniel Padilla. The duo starred in numerous high-profile projects, including the romantic comedy films Must Be... Love, She's Dating the Gangster, Crazy Beautiful You, Barcelona: A Love Untold, and Can't Help Falling in Love, alongside television series such as Got to Believe, Pangako Sa 'Yo, La Luna Sangre, and 2 Good 2 Be True. During this period, she also earned acclaim for her role in the horror film Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay.

Bernardo achieved major commercial milestones with her subsequent film projects. In 2018, she starred in The Hows of Us, which set box office records by reaching ₱800 million locally. The following year, she starred opposite Alden Richards in Hello, Love, Goodbye, which grossed ₱880 million globally and became the highest-grossing Filipino film for over four years. She ventured into black comedy with A Very Good Girl in 2023 alongside Dolly de Leon, winning a FAMAS Award for Best Actress. In 2024, she reunited with Richards in Hello, Love, Again, which became the first Filipino production to gross over ₱1 billion worldwide. In 2025, she became a judge on Pilipinas Got Talent.

Beyond her media career, Bernardo is an active entrepreneur. She established the nail salon chain KathNails in 2017, co-opened the barbershop Barbero Blues in 2019, acquired a Rice in a Box food franchise in 2020, launched The Glow Up Lounge salon in 2022, and co-founded the Isla Amara boutique hotel in El Nido, Palawan. In 2025, her family launched EMPOLO MNL, a sanitary ware brand.
