Jaden Smith

Jaden Christopher Syre Smith was born on July 8, 1998, in Malibu, California. He is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer. He is best known for his leading roles in major motion pictures and his music releases.

Smith is the son of actors Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. He grew up with an older half-brother, Trey Smith, and a younger sister, Willow Smith. He attended the New Village Leadership Academy before transitioning to homeschooling by his parents. During his youth, Smith and his siblings acted as youth ambassadors for Project Zambi, an initiative partnered with Hasbro to aid Zambian children orphaned by AIDS.

Smith made his feature film debut in 2006 alongside his father in The Pursuit of Happyness, winning the Breakthrough Performance Award at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards. He subsequently appeared in sci-fi remake The Day the Earth Stood Still in 2008 and co-starred with Jackie Chan in the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid. In 2013, he starred alongside his father again in After Earth. After taking a hiatus to focus on music, he returned to screen roles in the Netflix series The Get Down, voiced Kaz Kaan in the anime series Neo Yokio, and starred in the drama Skate Kitchen in 2018 and the romantic drama Life in a Year in 2020.

His music career began with a guest feature on Justin Bieber's 2010 single "Never Say Never," which reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and earned quintuple platinum certification from the RIAA. Smith released his debut mixtape, The Cool Cafe, in 2012, followed by CTV2 in 2014. After signing with Roc Nation and Interscope Records, he released his debut studio album, Syre, in 2017. He later released the studio albums Erys in 2019 and CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3 in 2020, all of which entered the Top 40 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. In 2022, Smith earned a Grammy Award nomination for Album of the Year as a featured artist on Bieber's album Justice.

In fashion, Smith launched clothing through his brand MSFTSrep, created a denim line with G-Star, and modeled in a womenswear campaign for Louis Vuitton in 2016. In September 2025, he was appointed Creative Director of Christian Louboutin, becoming the brand's first male creative director responsible for shaping four annual collections. Outside of fashion and entertainment, Smith became a partner in the spring water company Just Water at age 12 to promote accessible filtration and environmentally friendly infrastructure, and in 2019 he established a mobile restaurant serving free vegan dinners to people experiencing homelessness.
