Allu Arjun

Allu Arjun, born on April 8, 1982, is an Indian actor primarily active in Telugu cinema. Recognized for his dancing ability and acting versatility, he ranks among the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema and has featured on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list continuously since 2014. Over the course of his career, he has appeared in more than 25 films and earned numerous distinctions, including a National Film Award, seven Filmfare Awards, and three Nandi Awards.

Born in Madras (now Chennai) to film producer Allu Aravind and Nirmala, he comes from a family with deep roots in the Telugu film industry. His grandfather was the comedic actor Allu Ramalingaiah, and his extended family includes his aunt Surekha Konidela, her husband Chiranjeevi, and his cousin Ram Charan. He attended St. Patrick's School in Chennai before his family relocated to Hyderabad in the 1990s, where he later completed a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at MSR College.

After early appearances as a child artist in Vijetha (1985) and as a dancer in Daddy (2001), he made his full lead acting debut in the 2003 film Gangotri. He gained major recognition the following year starring in Sukumar's romantic drama Arya (2004), which earned him a Nandi Special Jury Award. He subsequently built on this success through leading roles in action and romantic projects such as Bunny (2005), Happy (2006), and Desamuduru (2007).

In 2008, he won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu for his role in the romantic drama Parugu. His career extended across multiple film genres with works such as Arya 2 (2009), the hyperlink anthology Vedam (2010), Badrinath (2011), and the action comedy Julayi (2012). His performance as a cable operator in Vedam secured his second Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu.

His commercial standing expanded further with high-grossing feature films including Race Gurram (2014)—which brought him a third Filmfare Award for Best Actor—along with S/O Satyamurthy (2015) and Sarrainodu (2016). He portrayed prince Gona Ganna Reddy in the 3D historical production Rudhramadevi (2015), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor and a Nandi Award for Best Character Actor. His other notable projects include DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham (2017), Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), and the 2014 social awareness short film I Am That Change.

He achieved widespread box-office prominence through the Pushpa series, starring in Pushpa: The Rise (2021) and its sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024). His lead performance in Pushpa: The Rise earned him a National Film Award for Best Actor alongside a fourth Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu. Beyond his screen roles, he serves as a brand ambassador for the Pro Kabaddi League and the streaming platform Aha, and received a special recognition award at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 2024. He is married to Sneha Reddy, with whom he has two children.
