Sara Ali Khan

Sara Ali Khan Pataudi is an Indian actress who works primarily in Hindi films. Born on 12 August 1995 into the Pataudi family, she is the daughter of Hindi film actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. On her father's side, she is of Pashtun, Assamese, and Bengali ancestry, while her mother's side is of Punjabi descent. Raised Muslim, Khan completed her higher education at Columbia University in New York, graduating early in three years with a degree in history and political science. She subsequently returned to India to pursue fitness training and launch her career in the entertainment industry.

Khan made her acting debut in 2018 starring in the romantic drama Kedarnath, playing a Hindu woman who falls in love with a Muslim porter. Her performance won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and an IIFA Award. In the same year, she appeared alongside Ranveer Singh in the action comedy Simmba. Despite legal disputes over scheduling conflicts during production, Simmba achieved widespread commercial success and became one of the highest-grossing Hindi releases of 2018.

Following her debut year, Khan encountered a mix of commercial and critical outcomes. In 2020, she starred in the romantic drama Love Aaj Kal and the comedy adaptation Coolie No. 1, both of which faced negative reviews. In 2021, she played a central role as a woman suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder in Aanand L. Rai's drama Atrangi Re, which was released on Disney+ Hotstar and drew varied feedback from critics.

In 2023, Khan starred in the streaming film Gaslight before returning to theatrical releases in the romantic comedy Zara Hatke Zara Bachke alongside Vicky Kaushal, which became a box-office success. The following year, she joined an ensemble cast in the streaming murder mystery Murder Mubarak and portrayed freedom fighter Usha Mehta in the biographical feature Ae Watan Mere Watan. In 2025, she featured in the 1965 war-themed action film Sky Force and joined an ensemble cast in Anurag Basu's romantic feature Metro... In Dino, which earned moderate commercial success.

In 2026, Khan appeared in the romantic comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh Do and was cast in the spy comedy Udta Teer. Off screen, Khan was listed in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 in 2019 and GQ India's list of influential young Indians in 2022. She endorses various commercial brands, joined the apparel brand The Souled Store as an equity partner in 2022, and has contributed to charitable efforts, including initiatives providing oxygen supplies and support for children orphaned during the COVID-19 pandemic.
