Niharika NM

Niharika NM is an Indian digital content creator, comedian and internet personality known for her fast-paced observational comedy, high-energy rants and lifestyle videos. She built a large international following through viral short-form videos and has become one of the most recognisable Indian creators of her generation.

Born in Chennai and raised primarily in Bengaluru, she completed a degree in computer science engineering before moving to the United States for further study, pursuing an MBA at Chapman University in California while building her online presence in parallel.

Niharika first gained attention on YouTube with character-driven situational comedy, including popular sketch formats such as her “Types of People” series. Her work broke through in the short-form video era, when her relatable humour and South Indian cultural references resonated widely and rapidly expanded her audience across Instagram and other platforms.

As her reach grew, she became a sought-after figure for brand collaborations and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list recognising influential young voices in media and marketing. She has split her time between India and the United States, and her profile as a creator has extended into acting and mainstream media appearances.

With content that blends everyday observation, cultural commentary and self-deprecating humour, Niharika has helped define a wave of Indian creators who reach global audiences directly through social platforms. She remains among the most followed and widely imitated comedic voices in India’s fast-growing creator economy, and continues to expand her work beyond short-form video into brand partnerships and on-screen projects.

Her rise mirrors the broader shift in Indian entertainment towards independent, internet-first creators who build audiences without traditional film or television backing. Balancing a business education with full-time content creation, Niharika has spoken about approaching her channel as both a creative outlet and an enterprise, working with major consumer brands while retaining the loose, improvisational style that first won her fans. That combination of relatability and commercial savvy has kept her among the most closely followed young comedic creators to emerge from India in recent years.
