Avneet Kaur

Avneet Kaur is an Indian actress, dancer and social-media personality who rose to prominence on Indian television and has since moved into Bollywood film. Born on 13 October 2001 in Jalandhar, Punjab, into a Sikh family, she later relocated to Mumbai to pursue performing and studied commerce at a college in the city.

She first appeared on screen as a child, competing on the dance reality shows “Dance India Dance Li’l Masters” (2010) and “Dance Ke Superstars.” She made her acting debut in 2012 in the television series “Meri Maa” as the young Jhilmil, and the same year became one of the youngest contestants on the celebrity dance competition “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.”

Kaur went on to television roles including Rajkumari Charumati in the historical drama “Chandra Nandini” (2017), before landing her best-known part as Princess Yasmine in the fantasy series “Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga” (2018–2020), which established her as a popular young leading actress on Indian television.

On film she made her Bollywood debut as a child in “Mardaani” (2014) and later starred opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in “Tiku Weds Sheru” (2023). Her subsequent projects include “Love in Vietnam” (2025), promoted as a first India–Vietnam film collaboration, reflecting her move towards more prominent film roles.

Alongside her acting, Kaur has built one of the largest social-media followings of any young Indian performer, making her a sought-after figure for fashion and lifestyle brands. Recognised with honours such as a Gold Award for best debut in a lead role in 2019, she remains one of the most visible young entertainers of her generation in India, with a career that spans dance, television, film and digital media.

Having grown up in front of the camera, Kaur has spoken about the transition from child performer to adult actress and her ambition to take on more substantial film roles. Her large online audience has made her a notable example of the way young Indian television stars increasingly build parallel careers as digital influencers, and she continues to balance acting projects with brand collaborations and a highly active social-media presence.
