Shraddha Kapoor

Shraddha Kapoor is an Indian actress known primarily for her work in Hindi feature films. Recognized as one of the highest-paid actresses in India, she has been listed on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list since 2014 and was named to Forbes Asia's 30 Under 30 list in 2016. In addition to her film career, she is the most-followed Indian woman on Instagram, has recorded songs for several of her screen projects, and launched her own clothing line in 2015.

Born on March 3, 1987, and raised in Mumbai, Kapoor comes from a family with deep roots in the film industry. She is the daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kapoor, and the sister of actor Siddhanth Kapoor. Her maternal relatives, including her mother and aunts Padmini and Tejaswini Kolhapure, are actors, and she is a great-niece of renowned singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. Kapoor attended Jamnabai Narsee School and later the American School of Bombay. She subsequently enrolled at Boston University to major in psychology, but she left during her first year after being discovered on social media for her screen debut.

Kapoor began her acting career with a supporting role in the 2010 heist film Teen Patti, which earned her a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Female Debut, followed by her first lead role in the teen drama Luv Ka The End in 2011. She achieved a major career breakthrough with the romantic musical Aashiqui 2 in 2013, securing her first Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress. She expanded her filmography with the romantic thriller Ek Villain in 2014, in which she also made her singing debut with the song Galliyan, the critically praised drama Haider, and the successful dance film ABCD 2 in 2015.

Over the following years, Kapoor experienced both commercial successes and setbacks. She starred in the martial arts action feature Baaghi in 2016 and the musical drama Rock On 2. Her 2017 releases included the romantic dramas Ok Jaanu and Half Girlfriend, alongside the biographical crime drama Haseena Parkar, in which she played the title character. She regained box-office momentum with the horror-comedy Stree in 2018, followed by the social problem drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu.

In 2019, Kapoor starred in the high-budget bilingual action thriller Saaho and the ensemble drama Chhichhore, both of which were major commercial hits. She subsequently appeared in the dance feature Street Dancer 3D and the action film Baaghi 3 in 2020. Her later career included starring roles in the romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar in 2023 and the successful horror-comedy sequel Stree 2 in 2024, which emerged as her highest-earning film and garnered her a second Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress.
